Pesach 5784
First pilgrim festival since ….
200 Days since ….
We are living through trauma, and celebration, and shock, and grief, and hope, still trying to hold onto hope in this new reality.
It’s what we do.
We relive the story of the exodus from Egypt every year at our Seder tables to mark the beginning of the festival of our freedom from 3000 years ago.
We add to our tables every year symbols that reflect the continuing Jewish story.
This year - a place laid for Tal Soham who has been kept in captivity by terrorists, along with 132 other innocent people, for 200 days.
Our ancient story of freedom.
Alongside our reality right now of captivity.
That’s what we do.
That’s what being Jewish is.
Today and always.
